The translation does not appear.: When you open the first text, iOS offers to download the German and translation languages (about 100 MB). Allow it and stay online until it finishes. Downloaded languages can be managed in the iPhone Settings under Translate.
Which languages are supported?: Texts in German, translated into Ukrainian or Russian. Choose the language in Settings > Translate into.
How do I add my own text?: Tap "Add text" in the library: paste text, import a plain text file, or enter a web page address. Tip: nachrichtenleicht.de has news in simple German.
The reading voice sounds robotic.: Lesepaar uses the German voices of iOS. For a nicer voice, download an enhanced German voice in iPhone Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Voices.
Can I take my words to another app?: Yes. In Vocabulary, tap "Export CSV" and share the file wherever you like, for example to a flashcard app.
How exact is the translation?: It is a machine translation by Apple. It helps you understand the sentence, but it can be imprecise, especially with idioms.
